Upcoming Events!
Yeehaw!
Saturday, Nov. 2nd is less than a month away and you know what that means. Yes indeed, it’s time for our annual square dance. Now if you’ve never attended, this is your golden corral opportunity, and if you’ve joined us in the past, you know it’s tons of fun! Everyone is guaranteed a great time, and the evening comes with a double your money back guarantee. It doesn’t matter if you have two left feet, two right feet, or one of each. Laughter will carry you through all the dance moves. We will have a live caller to guide us, and a delicious, covered dish supper will start the evening off. The best part is that all ages can participate. You can enjoy the evening from the sidelines or dance the night away, which ends at 8 PM. Please feel free to invite your friends. Sign up in Fellowship Hall or let Jen, in the church office, know you’d like to attend (908.362.5254 or [email protected]). Your Membership and Fellowship Committee can’t encourage you enough to join this family fun event, and we look forward to welcoming you, partner!

About the Membership & Fellowship Ministry . . .
Letters of inquiry were sent out in May of 2022, to individuals who have not participated in the life of the church for a number of years. We reached out to these members in the past with “Thinking of You” notes and phone calls. Membership and Fellowship received replies to move nine members to Inactive Status per their request. Eight individuals were moved to Inactive Status due to non-participation for a significant number of years. Moving a member to Inactive Status means the individual is still a member of the Church but is not active.
On July 4, we once again had a booth at the Blairstown Fourth Celebration. An updated church photo brochure was available for distribution highlighting some aspects of church life, as well as an informational flyer from Marlene Wilburn on the Children’s Center, and church cookbooks were for sale. Christian-themed slap-on bracelets were handed out; the young, and young at heart, enjoyed the kiddie fishing game; and this year we offered face painting. Small bottles of ice cold water were handed out. It was a beautiful day and many members volunteered and took turns helping.
In November, the Membership and Fellowship Ministry hosted a concert with Dave Paulson and Water Street in the sanctuary, followed by a community supper in Fellowship Hall. The event was free and the public was encouraged to attend. About 45 people attended the event, 17 of whom are regularly attending members. Those on the Membership and Fellowship Committee were motivated to host this event because of a desire to share with the community who we are as neighbors, and as a welcoming community of faith. Again, many volunteers willingly came forward to support this successful event.
“Christmas Letters” were developed and sent out with pledge forms in coordination with Stewardship and Finance to members and friends of FPCB, listing all the seasonal events being held at church during the season of Advent. The letters were sent with the hope that all would be encouraged to attend and participate.
We wish to acknowledge and thank Jennifer Plut, Church Administrator, for her support in helping us carry out our ministry.
Respectfully submitted,
The Membership and Fellowship Ministry
