Christmas / Advent

Dear Members and Friends of First Presbyterian Church,

As has been publicized, our church is offering two Christmas Eve services, one at 4:00 PM and the second one at 7:15 PM.

Because of the predicted inclement weather for Christmas Eve Day, the 4:00 PM service, which was originally going to take place outside, will now be held live on Zoom and Facebook and NOT outside. The 7:15 PM service will be held by Zoom and by Facebook.

Both services will be musically rich and enrich, though they will also be significantly shorter in duration than our Christmas Eve Services typically are.

In closing, on behalf of our fine church staff, we extend a hearty Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Greeting to all.

God be with you and God bless you.
Pastor David G. Harvey

On Christmas Eve, two services are being planned.  The Christmas Eve Service at 4:00 PM will be held outside in front of the church where attendees may spread out on the sidewalk with attention focused on the Creche; while the 7:30 PM Service will be held by virtual worship (through Zoom and Facebook), with the Quartet singing at 7:15 PM. Please join us at 7:15 PM as we begin our Christmas Eve Service with meaningful music.

If there is inclement weather in the afternoon of December 24, the 4:00 PM service will be held virtually as well. Sunday worship, beginning December 27, will be transmitted through Zoom and Facebook.

Both services will run between 30 and 45 minutes, will include a few beloved Christmas carols, a scripture reading, probably from Luke 2, a brief meditation, and a prayer. As we gather, we will wait, we will watch, and we will wonder. Advent and Christmas are about waiting, watching, and wondering.
